It is no doubt my favorite time of year and one to which I look forward to eagerly: The celebration of our Lord's resurrection. Even the weeks leading up to resurrection Sunday are most precious. We at Silver Lake Community Church have just begun a 40 day fast that will take us up to Easter Sunday, April 8. We are using a calendar published by the Church of God of Anderson, IN, which focuses on a singular prayer request for each of the 40 days. What preparation for those who have chosen the type of fast God has put on their heart, begun to focus on particular prayer needs for each day, and are choosing to empty themselves more of self in order to fill up on more of Christ! |

Welcome, Friend, Perhaps you have intentially come here or have simply stumbled upon our site and blog. Either way, welcome. So, what is on your mind today? Or put another way, how can Silver Lake make a difference in your life or the lives of others? We are far from a perfect congregation, but do want to reach out with the love of Christ. Here is an encouraging Scripture: "If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
